The coat of arms of Andorra, since 1969, consists of four quarters. The top left quarter shows a mitre and staff representing the bishop of Urgell, the top right depicts three red, vertical bars for the three counts of Foix placed on a gold background. To the lower right two cows on a gold background represent the two counts of Béarn. Finally, the lower left quarter, shows four red bars on a gold background referring to Catalonia (Spain). Underneath the shield the text "VIRTUS UNITA FORTIOR", meaning "United virtue is stronger", can be seen.
