Coat of arms
The national coat of arms of Armenia consists of an escutcheon flanked by two supporters. The escutcheon consists of five sections. The middle section shows mount Ararat with Noah's Ark on top. The other four sections symbolize 4 great dynasties from Armenian history: two eagles facing each other symbolize the Artaxiad dynasty (lower right), the lion with the cross symbolizes the Bagratuni dynasty (upper right), the double-headed eagle symbolizes the Arsacid dynasty (upper left) and the second lion with a cross symbolizes the Rubenid dynasty (lower left). The two supporters are, again, a lion and an eagle. They are the symbols of the Bagratuni as well as the Rubenid dynasty and of the Artaxiad as well as the Arsacid dynasty, respectively.
