Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Barbados shows a golden shield with 2 national flowers (Pride of Barbados) and a single bearded fig tree. Alongside the shield two figurines hold the shield, a dolphin fish and a pelican, representing the fishing industry and Pelican Island. On top of the shield a helmet and the national symbol, a hand holding two sugar canes, are placed. The latter is a national symbol and in which the sugar canes represent St. Andrew's cross. Underneath the shield is a banner with the text "PRIDE AND INDUSTRY", the national motto.
