Cuba
The coat of arms of Cuba consists of an escutcheon decorated with three sections. The upper section shows a sea with two rocks (Florida (USA) and the Yucatán Peninsula (MEX)) with a rising sun in the background. The latter symbolizes the rise of a new nation. The key in between is the symbol of Cuba as the key to the Caribs. The right section shows diagonal bands referring to the national flag. The left section shows the real palm (national tree) and mountains, a typical Cuban landscape. The escutcheon is flanked by an oak (strength) and a laurel branch (honor and glory). The escutcheon is crowned with a phrygian cap (liberty) decorated with a star (determination and independence) on top of a fasces pole (unity strenght).
