Coats of arms of Czechoslovakia

The coat of arms of Czechoslovakia used from 1961-1989 shows a two-tailed lion (the symbol of Bohemia) with a shield and a socialistic star. The shield is decorated with an image of the Kryváň mountain with a flame. The latter symbolizes the revolt of the Slovaks against German occupation in 1944.
The coat of arms of Czechoslovakia used from 1990-1992 was introduced after the velvet revolution when was decided by the parliament to dissolve the republic. The shield is red and decorated with two white lions (the Czech lion) and two white double crosses on a blue mountain (the Slovak symbol on the mountains Tatra, Fatra and Mátra.)
