Coat of arms
The middle coat of arms of King Otto of Greece (1832-1862) consists of an escutcheon decorated with a smaller escutcheon with the Bavarian flag (referring to his background) on a cross. The arms of the cross do not reach the side of the larger escutcheon. On top sits the royal crown.
The royal coat of arms of Greece under the Glücksberg dynasty (1863-1973) consists of a crowned escutcheon decorated with a cross on a plain field. The supporters are two men holding clubs representing Hercules.
