Coat of arms
The national coat of arms of Guyana consists of an escutcheon, two supperters, a crest and a banner with the motto. The escutcheon is decorated with the Victoria regi lily (top), 3 waves symbolizing the three main rivers of Guyana (middle) and a Canje pheasant (bottom). The escutcheon is crowned with on top a crest (symbolizing the monarchy and the tribal head). The supporters are two jaguars, one holding a pick axe, the other one holding a cane of sugar and a stalk of rice. These items represent the mining industry (as do the diamonds next to the crest) and agriculture. Underneath is a banner with the motto: "ONE PEOPLE" "ONE NATION" "ONE DESTINY".
