Heinz Hoyer

BiographyHoyer is a German medallist and sculptor. He attended the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee, where he later (after a short carreer abroad in Bulgaria) became a teacher. Between 1983 and 1994 he designed several German commemorative coins, many of which with his wife Sneschana Russewa-Hoyer. One of his (and his wifes) most noteable works is the design of the Bundesatler (National Eagle) on the obverse (national) side of the German 1 and 2 euro coins.
