George Edward Kruger-Gray
BiographyEnglishman George E. Kruger-Gray was a well-known artist of his time who produced coin designs, coats of arms and stained glass windows. He was a leading designer at the Royal Mint and mostly designed reverse sides. Kruger’s real name was George Edward Kruger. After his marriage in 1918 he adopted his wife’s surname. He was a graduate of the Royal College of Art. His last name is sometimes spelled as ‘Kruger-Grey.’
