Privy Marks
Lambert Joseph Emmanuel Servais (LUX), 1853-1857, 1869, Roman swordNote: there was a dispute about this mark between Luxembourg and the Netherlands. This mark was used on coins which were struck at the Brussels Mint (BEL) with the mint mark of Utrecht (NLD). Luxembourg claimed that this was the mark of Servais, even though it was also the mark of the Utrecht mint master Van den Wall Bake in the same period.
