Paul Wissaert
BiographyWissaert was a Belgian medallist who studied in Paris with Jules Clément Chaplain. He designed the 1935 50 francs commemorative coin commemorating the centennial of the Belgian Railways and the World Exposition of 1935 in Brussels (BEL). At first he was to design a 40 francs coin, but, due to devaluation of the franc, the value later was raised to 50 francs.
