Maria Carmela Colaneri

BiographyColaneri is an Italian medal and coin engraver. She attended the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Guiseppe Romagnoli and became an employee of the Italian Mint in 1984. She won many prizes, amongst others the first prize of the Biennale d'arte e turismo of Florence (ITA) and the best coin design with the 500 ITL and 1000 ITL coins. She designed the national side of the Italian 2 euro coin (KM# 217) showing poet Dante Alighieri by Parnassus.
