Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Peru shows an escutcheon decorated with three images. The top left shows a vicuña, the national animal of Peru, the top right shows the representation of the national flora, the cinchona tree. Underneath the two top images a cornucopia represents the mineral riches of Peru. The shield is flanked by a palm branch (left) and a laurel branch (right) for victory and glory. The branches are bound together by a ribbon in the colours of the national flag.
