Marcel Rau
BiographyRau was the son of an architect and related to Victor Horta. He studied sculpture and architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts at Brussels (BEL). He was the runner-up for Prix Godecharle in 1907 and in 1909 he won the 'Grand Prix de Rome'. In 1945, he became a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. He contributed to the 'renaissance' of decorative arts in Belgium.
