State emblem
The state emblem of Uzbekistan consists of a central Khuma (mythical bird) with spread wings and facing left. Behind the bird the sun rises over mountains and flow two rivers, Amu Darya and Syr Darya. A wreath consisting of wheat and cotton flowers surrounds the bird. A banner wraps the wreath and bears the cyrillic text "Ўзбекистон" which translates to the name of the country. On top the star of Rub El Hizb, a symbol of Islam, surmounts the whole.
