Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Egypt (Federation of Arab Republics from 1972-1980) shows the hawk of the Qureish (a merchant tribe at the time Islam appeared.) On its chest a weapon. In the claws of the hawk it holds a banner with the Arabic text: جمهورية مصر العربية, which means "Arab Republic of Egypt".
